The "Running Man" on Emergency Exit Signs

I believe that everyone is familiar with the "Runner" on the emergency exit signages! The logo is now known internationally as the "Running Man” 🏃🏻was originated in Japan. However, don't underestimate him. He plays a significant role in evacuating building occupants in fire emergencies.

The "Running Man" logo was designed in 1979 by Yukio Ota, a Jagraphic designer who graduated from Japan's top art school, Tama Art University. This logo has since become accepted in Australia, the United Kingdom, Norway, and several parts of Asia. In addition, Canada has improved its national building code by replacing the traditional text-based "exit" and "escape" signs with the "Running Man" logo.

"Running Man" was established as an international standard in 1987 as an internationally consistent symbol; escape signs in many countries have replaced the text-based exit signs with the “Running Man” logo and arrows. ↔️ The purpose is to enable people who can’t read or speak the language to find an exit quickly in an emergency. ✅
